Rhinoplasty is one of the surgeries with the greatest impact on facial harmony, That's why I want to talk about a question that many of my patients always ask during the process:”When will I see the final results?”. In this blog I will guide you through what you can expect in terms of time and evolution of results.
Right after the operation, it's normal to see swelling and feel discomfort. Your nose will be bandaged, and you may have both internal and external splints to hold the structure in place. Obviously, there are immediate changes, but there is significant swelling and bruising (purple), especially in the first few days.
For the first few weeks, you'll notice that the swelling begins to subside. As the bandages and splints are removed, you may begin to see changes in your nose, although that won't be the final result yet. It is important to follow all instructions for post-operative care during this period.
After the first 3 months, most of the swelling will be gone. At this point, you'll have a clearer idea of what your new nose looks like, but there may still be some swelling, especially at the tip.
For most patients, it takes a full year to see the final result of a rhinoplasty. The nose continues to heal and the results “settle” during this time. It is important to be patient and remember that complete de-inflammation is a gradual process.
Rhinoplasty it is a process that requires time and patience. It's essential to have realistic expectations and understand that each person heals at a different rate. If you're considering rhinoplasty or have just had one, keep in mind that the final results will be worth the wait. Are you interested in having a rhinoplasty? Schedule an assessment with us.
